Russell Craig graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Auckland in 1970 and became resident designer at New Zealand’s Mercury and Downstage theatres.
He won a Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, a British Council travel grant and settled in London in 1974. In 1983 he was selected to represent Britain at the Prague Quadrennial.
As well as designing the sets and costumes for many Opera and Theatre companies throughout the United Kingdom and abroad, Russell is an accomplished prop maker.
